Immune Systems Need Your Help Too!
The paradox is that antibiotics were developed to help the immune system, but in reality they actually impair it. This paradoxical effect was first noted in 1950, but couldn't be confirmed, and it was only in 1972 at the Baylor School of Medicine in Houston that it was documented that some antibiotics actually prevented white blood cells from attacking and killing bacteria.
